Geographers study Spain's River Tordera

  • Secondary News

Year 10 geography students travelled to Spain last week to collect data for their coursework on the River Tordera, just outside Barcelona.

The students' aim was to determine whether the river adhered to the Bradshaw model. Each student had their own hypothesis to prove or disprove.

The students entered the river at several sites in the upper and middle course, and measured the width, depth, velocity, gradient and bedload size and shape. In the evenings they were in the classroom entering the data into a spreadsheet and doing calculations.
