Year 5 students learn about ethical trade

This week Year 5 students welcomed visitors from Fair Trade International. The visitors spoke about the role of fair trade, using the example of a fair-trade banana to illustrate their points. The students learned about the process of growing bananas, the journey from farm to shop, and how the concept of fair trade makes the growing and selling process more equitable for everyone involved.

This visit was a fantastic opportunity for our students to understand the importance of ethical trade practices and their impact on global communities. It has encouraged them to think critically about the products they use and the global economy.
