Kleeschen makes a surprise visit

Students in Milepost 1 had two very special visitors today – St Nicolas (known in Luxembourg as Kleeschen) and his friend Housecker.

The students heard the story of how St Nicolas Day came to be celebrated on 6th December and had the opportunity to ask Kleeschen questions. Among their questions were: "Do you speak all the languages in the world?"; "How many presents do you give out?"; "Who is your friend [referring to Housecker]?"; and "Do you have a brother?" 

The children performed a number of festive songs and were all reassured by St Nicolas that their hard work and kindness would be rewarded with gifts at the end of the school day.
