Back to Ancient Rome in Year 5

Last Thursday, Year 5 students began their Humanities topic on the Rocking Romans by having an afternoon of fun trying out some of the rituals and traditions of Ancient Roman life. The students and their Teachers dressed up as Emperors, centurions and members of the Roman nobility and played Roman board games. They also designed mosaics, got into role as soldiers and tried out different battle formations with their Roman shields and created laurel wreaths.

The hands on approach to learning about Roman life continues this week as the Year 5 students have a go at building working aqueducts as they learn more about the Roman Empire.
