Recycling facility in canteen

St George’s Facilities department has been busy installing new recycling bins in the canteen. Students are now able to sort their canteen waste and recycle plastic, metal and food waste.  

Improved recycling will help St George’s reduce CO2 emissions created through food waste and thereby promote the School Climate Pledge campaign for net-zero emissions. This activity also offers an opportunity to build awareness among students and staff about food waste and consider ways to reduce food waste. 

Valorlux collect the plastic and metal waste and S.D.K Bioman recycles food waste into fertilizer and biofuel.
