School Information

Staff Inset
Staff inset days are days that the teaching staff are working, but pupils are not in school.
School uniform
School uniform is not compulsory at St George’s. A red fleece and a red T-shirt with the school logo are available to purchase from the Marketing office. Gymbags are also available.
School reports
All staff are available to meet parents by prior appointment after school, twice a year after reports have been issued, for the purpose of discussing their child’s progress.
Medical
If your child should become ill during school time you will be contacted and asked to collect him/her.
If your child is involved in an accident of an apparently serious nature, immediate medical help will be sought.
We ask all parents to leave an emergency contact number with the school and to complete the medical questionnaire provided upon enrolment.
PE and Swimming
Early Years have PE within school or outside depending on the weather conditions.
From the Reception class to Year 6, the children are taken once a week by bus to a sports complex where they have either PE or swimming.
In secondary school the students have PE every week all year, and swimming once a week for a term.

Physical Education Kit
The children should wear shorts and a red school T-shirt for PE.
Light, non-marking gym shoes are also required for indoor use.
Please name all items and place in a gym bag.
Swimming Kit
Basic requirement of swim suit or swimming trunks, school swimming hat, towel, and hairbrush.
All contained in a swimming bag.
After school clubs (may vary from year to year):
Various after school clubs are organised which may vary from year to year.
Currently, sports and indoor games, Tai Chi, chess, tri golf, drama, knitting, art, crafts in French, recorder, guitar, piano and ocarina are available.
We have a football coach who organises a Football Club on Saturday mornings and Rugby is played on Saturday afternoons at a local club.
Accident insurance
All pupils are covered by obligatory government insurance, which provides cover for medical costs arising from accidents that happen to them at school, whilst taking part in school sponsored activities whether off or on school grounds, and while travelling to or from school.
