At St George's we believe learning is to be enjoyed
St. George's International School welcomes pupils of all nationalities between the ages of 2 years and nine months to 18, whose parents desire an English speaking, international education for their children.
The school follows the precepts and practices of the National Curriculum of England and Wales, tailored to meet the needs of an independent overseas school.
St. George's is approved by the City of Luxembourg and the Ministry of Education, and enjoys the patronage of His Excellency, HBM Ambassador to Luxembourg. It is a member of the European Council of International Schools and COBIS (The Council of British Independent Schools).
Laying a firm foundation for the future
We believe in the basic right of equal opportunity for all.
We believe we should provide pupils with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to function in a complex, rapidly changing, contemporary society.
We believe children should be challenged to perform their best, and to put forth effort to meet their goals. We believe that real effort and accomplishment should be rewarded. We endeavour to provide a caring educational environment where each individual is afforded maximum opportunity for intellectual, creative, physical, and social growth.
We value cultural diversity and respect differences of race, faith and gender.
St. George's aims to encourage children to be:
ACHIEVING by creating an atmosphere in which pupils are challenged to realise their potential, thus fostering confidence in themselves and their abilities, and a sense of personal worth.
HAPPY by creating a caring community supportive of the best family values, where an atmosphere of mutual co-operation, understanding and respect allows everyone, regardless of race, nationality or religion to work and play harmoniously together.
SKILFUL by giving pupils the basic tools to succeed in a modern industrial society; by encouraging curiosity and independence of thought; by developing the ability to recognise, analyse and solve problems; by teaching them to read with understanding, express themselves clearly and perform the basic operations of mathematics with understanding and precision.
CREATIVE by encouraging creative and cultural opportunities, to develop personal expression and enrich and expand pupils' experience.
KNOWLEDGEABLE by helping pupils; understand the natural world and their responsibility towards it; appreciate cultures and societies different from their own; begin to learn at least one language other than their own; develop an awareness of those less fortunate than themselves.
CONSCIENTIOUS by encouraging pupils: to be self critical and to accept criticism as part of the learning process; to adopt worthy goals and work to attain them; to stimulate a desire to be honest, trustworthy and helpful.
HEALTHY by promoting physical development and a healthy life style; by fostering team spirit and sportsmanship.
SAFE by providing a safe and secure environment for the physical and moral well being of all pupils.
